Matthew 7:12
Spanish vocabulary for technology and digital communication is essential for connecting with the Spanish-speaking world in the twenty-first century — through work, ministry, family, and everyday life online. This lesson introduces core vocabulary for talking about devices, the internet, and digital habits. Devices and tools: el teléfono inteligente (smartphone), la computadora portátil (laptop), la tableta (tablet), el teclado (keyboard), la pantalla (screen), el cargador (charger), los audífonos (headphones). Internet and communication vocabulary: la red social (social network), el correo electrónico (email), el mensaje de texto (text message), la videollamada (video call), el enlace (link), la contraseña (password), la nube (the cloud, for storage), descargar (to download), subir (to upload), conectarse (to connect), desconectarse (to disconnect), compartir (to share). Practice using these words in full sentences: "Olvidé mi contraseña y tuve que crear una nueva." (I forgot my password and had to create a new one.) "Prefiero hacer una videollamada en vez de escribir un mensaje largo." (I prefer to make a video call instead of writing a long message.) Digital-safety and discernment vocabulary: la privacidad (privacy), el virus informático (computer virus), la configuración (settings), seguro/segura (secure, safe), sospechoso/sospechosa (suspicious). Philippians 4:8 instructs believers, "whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest... think on these things." This applies directly to our digital lives: the content we view, download, and share on our phones and computers should be filtered through this same standard, in Spanish or in English. Practice task: write a six-to-eight sentence paragraph in Spanish describing three ways you use technology responsibly, using at least ten vocabulary words from this lesson. Include at least one sentence about protecting your privacy online.
